Wasatch Advisors names new head tech-fund manager

Noor Kamruddin to direct fund manager's Global Science and Technology fund. Wasatch Advisors has named Noor Kamruddin as the lead portfolio manager of its Global Science & Technology fund, on which she has been a portfolio manager for over a year now.
Comfortable assumption "We are pleased to have Ms. Kamruddin in position to comfortably assume this expanded role," says Wasatch Funds president Samuel Stewart. "The uniquely collaborative research culture at Wasatch will allow Ms. Kamruddin to continue to leverage the knowledge and skills of our broader research team in her role as lead manager of the Global Science & Technology Fund."
Salt Lake City-based Wasatch Advisors advises Wasatch Funds, a family of no-load mutual funds.
Kamruddin has been with Wasatch since 2004. She previously worked as an equities analyst at Firsthand Capital Management, and as an associate with cibcwm.com/wm CIBC World Markets and Merrill Lynch. She also worked at several technology companies including Tandem Computers (now part of Hewlett-Packard and U.S. Robotics.
